ADVISORY COUNCIL Nancy Countryman* Austin, Texas Ms. Countryman was served on the original strategic planning committee, the implementation plan sessions, and the founding board for over two years. Granted, Nancy was rather drawn into this Council because of her interest, and she had just retired from years as a dedicated elementary teacher in Del Valley. Nancy and her husband, Roger, travel and great deal and with their own children grown and out of state, it didn't seem to be something she could accomplish. Additionally, Nancy has a lifetime collection of dolls - a dedicated hobby that also keeps her busy. However, it is very important to have the community-at-large represented, and with her activities in her sorority, and interest in her own neighbors and friends was evident; Nancy has been at each meeting. Her "retirement" has turned into a full time occupation. Now, her husband, an executive with Motorola is trying to retire, and they have spent over a year remodeling their home (with agony and attorneys!), so Ms. Countryman consented to serve on the IAC - its very important to have original personalities in an organization's leadership circle of influence. Nancy, thank you, again, and again! |
