Paul Chin

Mr. Chin has been a part of PROJECT! OUTREACH in many ways. For one, his son, Christopher, was selected from many volunteers to design our web site and become the webmaster – a volunteer position only we didn’t know the "winning web designer" was a high school senior, at the time. As part of Paul’s emerging role he often provided feedback on issues of concern to the board chair, so it soon became apparent that this kind person, who emigrated from China in 1963, was becoming a valuable asset. Not only because the PROJECT! is very concerned about multi-cultural sensitivity, but because he never hesitated to step up and help if he could.

It is obvious there is probably no one more proud of their son than Paul, which was evident in his gratitude for our letters on Christopher’s behalf as he began applying for universities during the summer of 2001, but when the PROJECT! needed a specially designed business card made, we turned to our web designer. Busy with school, Paul offered to do the job, in fact, not only create the design but putting into a format that the printer’s wanted to save a "computer designer fee," .eps format. Needless to say, this took a lot of work, no one had that program. The chair put out a call for help on that, and a "friend of the PROJECT! in Toronto provided the program, and Paul went to work, to the point of following through with the printer’s by email sometimes several times a day.

There will be more to tell you about this new International Advisory Council member very soon, but for now we are very happy to present Paul Chin to the world of caring medicine, dedicated to serving the indigent to prevent and diagnose breast cancer early.
